Why This Reference Exists
Modern Kihei information is divided by purpose. Maui County Real Property Assessment connects owners to parcels, the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances indexes deeds, and election information is governed by state law. Earlier names and addresses may appear at Kihei Public Library, Maui Historical Society, or Hawaii State Archives. We bring those search paths, contacts, coverage notes, and access limits together without pretending they form one complete household list.
What Is Included
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- The rolls and offices: assessor, recorder, elections office, court clerk, vital records, the library's local history collection
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Hawaii law opens, what stays closed, and how a records request works when something is not online
